Poor Custumer Service/ Crashing all the time

After3 days using, it is crashing everytime I open. I contacted the support 4 times, 10 days ago, and didnt have any response. My advise is to not buy, if you have any problem ,they wont help you.

Great Idea - that will never evolve/improve…...

Pulp is a great idea - especially for the Mac (the iPad has the best aggregator in Zite). The problems though are to significant to ignore. 1 - Acrylic Software has sold out. There will be no further development on this product and it will likely end up being ruined by everything else that Facebook taints. 2 - iCloud funtionality rarely works - and due to #1 I doubt it will get fixed. If you have an iPad - check out Zite and send them e-mail to develop a Mac OS X version of their app.

It really had potential but it will never be realized.

I love Zite on my iPad and wanted it for my MacBook Pro, but Zite is not available in that platform. So in the alternative I chose this program. While I really liked the look of this reader it is no Zite and now because the developers have moved on and according to their website will no longer support this app, it is unfortunately, the best it will ever be at this moment. Its still not a bad reader, but just know that if you buy it, it will probably only be of use for a limited time as OSX and the internet move forward this will not. For that reason, I can not recommend anyone spend any more money on this. Too bad, could have been a five star app.

They took the money and ran - do not buy!!!!

I bought this app and the iOs version in Feb, it never worked. Kept checking it every time an update came out, still crap. Finally with the last update it started working and then we find out that their moving to Facebook and wont be supporting the app any longer. Talk about getting ripped off. Dont waste your money on an app with no future support.

I LOVE CURRENT EVENTS!

PULP IS UP TO THE MINUTE INFORMATIVE. IT COVERS MANY TOPICS AND BREAKS THEM DOWN BY INTEREST AS WELL AS SUBJECT. I CHECK IT MANY TIMES A DAY AS I AM VERY INTERESTED IN 90% OF THE TOPICS PRESENTED. I WOULD PURCHASE THE APP AGAIN WITHOUT HESITATION.

Questionable purchase

Several feeds do not work with magic reader, which was my main goal. I previewed this app a couple versions ago. It ran fine and did what it said. I recently purchased it and am now having regrets, especially at this price point. While it still does what it claims, for the most part, it now runs my processor at 350% and maxes out the temps on both the CPU and GPU. Thanks to the new processors and the way these are handled it does not crash my system, but I do now get hot fast. I cannot leave this reader running in the background. The old version did not do this.

Was awesome

Used it everyday until … reader broke. Dont waste your money. Im using reeder now.

Beautiful!!! Lets Start a Pro Honest Review Campaign!!!!!!

I literally purchased this app for one reason. Although it honestly turned out to be the best there is hands down especially since I have a retina display, but the main reason was the ridiculous people who write poor reviews just because the people who sold this puppy to Facebook are millionaires now and they made the best decision they could possibly make for the rest of their lives…however…over and over again we see people call these people "SELL OUTS" and unjustly and ignorantly discriminate against the change in ownership rather than the actual quality of the app. These people should be banned from posting reviews in the app store forever…if anyone saw recently they did the same thing to evernote but I must say Evernotes app got significantly worse. Just because the percentage of people who are taking the time to write reviews just to hate on Facebook are the same Droid fans who now all of a sudden hate on Apple for no reason at all other than their own inner insecurities knowing they are standing up to something far inferior than what they could have with an apple product. Seriously….THIS NEWS READER IS THE BEST HANDS DOWN AND I DONT CARE IF AMENIHAJAD OR WHATEVER HIS NAME OWNS IT….LET ALONE FACEBOOK…everyone should still see the product here as the best and the App store has to protect its business interests just as much as the fair review here…and something has to be done…please make it against the rules to post a negative review just because a change of ownership has happened…its an App for Christ sake we arent talking about the stock market!!!!!

Loved Times/Pulp

So sad that Pulp has been left to grow stale after the acquihire of Dustin by Facebook. Pulp and Wallet are brilliant, beautiful pieces of software that have *no* equal in the market today. Purchase at your own risk; be aware that one day you may upgrade your OS only to find Pulp crashes on launch due to some underlying OS changes. :-(

Amazing!

New updates! I thought this app was dead but apparently it is not! Cool! My only compaint: Pulp does not remember my full-screen view. So I have to switch to that view every time I open the app. Fix it soon pls!

I cant believe there was an update.

I can again recommend this App. It is amazing. I cant believe there wasn update. Thanks!

I didnt know it was still being updated

Its really nice.

No Google Reader integration

I love the interface, but I bought this assuming that the most expensive news reader would at least offer an option to sync with Google Reader, where my other preferred mobile readers sync. Only after paying for the app did I find in the FAQ that the author is against it on philosophical grounds. To me it seems like baseline functionality for good quality readers these days, especially for a reader that costs twice as much as competitors. I would much prefer to use your reader on my laptop, but of the excellent user interface, but I cant and keep all my devices synced and use the apps I prefer on my other devices. Please reconsider your position on syncing with google. If I could ask for a refund I would. Instead Im now just a disappointed customer who cant benefit from your product that Ive paid for and with no way to return it.

waste of money

it wont load images from feeds, support is useless, not even going to bother contacting since from other reviewers that looks hopeless. uninstalling.

Glad Pulp does not require Google Reader integration

I bought Pulp because it does not require integration with Google Reader. For that reason, it is unlike most of the other readers I find on the App Store. I ditched Reeder because of that requirement too. Google does not need to know everything about me. Pulp is a great app and it works well. I like the interface and it is easy to set up. I recommend it. Glad they did an update too.

Fantastic App

This is great. - Please integrate growl and fix your chrome extension and I will GLADLY give this app 5 stars!

What

I mean, the window actually gets smaller to reveal a really ugly fake wood background. Why cant it just go full screen and give me more viewing area? Isnt that what full screen is for? I like a lot about this reader. I might have even rated it 5 stars, if it werent for this horrible idea.

I want simplicity - this is too cluttered, busy for me

I realize poeple love this app but I have to say that I find it to be way too busy…I want to see less at once and more casually move through my content. For example, I love how Flipboard does it on the iPad - much more natural. Im not referring to the "flipping" that Flipboard does, rather their layout is easier for glancing through. I want to just think about the content, but with Pulp, I feel like I have to think about the app as well.

Good, but not intuitive

Immediately after learning that Google Reader is shutting down, I went hunting for an app that isnt just a Reader client. Pulp is great for that. It stands completely alone and it will import your Reader feeds, but not all at once. You have to do it one at a time, reopening the import window for each feed you want to bring over. Yep its tedious, and Pulp doesnt import any tag or category structure, so Im still in the middle of recategorizing everything. You get a choice of layouts for each feed, and can add and subtract columns for each category, so you end up with a pretty complex grid of info in front of you. I guess thats good or bad depending on how well you deal with that much info. For me it makes for a confusing experience, and really slows me down trying to make sense of all the stories on screen at once. Reordering feeds within columns is pretty spotty so far -- I cant figure out how to get the feeds I want at the top of the column. And the home page is locked down and dynamic, you cant manually edit what shows up there as far as I can tell, so its completely useless for me. I deleted all the stock stuff that came with the app and now I have one item there that wont go away, and I cant add anything new. I dont get the point. And why cant I see just new/unread items on my home screen? Isnt that a complete no-brainer? There also, strangely, is no Next Item function when youre reading in full page mode. So you have to escape back out to the big grid and click on the next item. Theyve apparently made a few design decisions just to be different, and Im not sure they were all that useful. Running your categories horizontally across the top is definintely counter the norm of having a left sidebar, but theres a reason why people like left sidebars-- its easier to parse a vertical list than a horizontal one, and you remember ordered positions easier that way. Also, why in the world do I need a drawer coming out of the top of my UI? Couldnt I just click a flag or something and have a smart category? Aside from all those gripes, its okay-- theyve focused on making it easy on the eyes, headlines stand out well, and the posts end up formatted nicely. But honestly, lots of free readers do all that. Oh, and the dock icon is low-res and fuzzy. Come on. Worth $10? Eh, maybe. But I wish I had paid about $3.

Less than useful

The newspaper-like interface is gimmicky and Pulp fails to display an unread count for individual columns/feeds nor does it inform you when youve reached the end of the unread feed items. In addition, it occasionally fails to render updates initiated by the user (in particular, marking a column/feed as read). Dont waste your money on this app.
